On A Budget This Year?
Wednesday, February 28th, 2007
I wouldn’t usually think of Tesco when deciding where to buy my Mother’s Day pressie but if you’re on a bit of a budget this year they have some pretty nice gifts at very low prices. This Ceramic Candle Set would look great in the front room or up in the bathroom – the ceramic plate and pebbles make the gift look far more expensive than it really is.
At only £7.97 you could wrap this up in expensive paper and pretend you bought it from a specialist candle store – for at least £10 per candle! She’ll never know! Or if you can afford to splash out a little more you could always send some flowers too?

If you’ve got a little bit of spare cash saved up then why not treat your Mum to a really lovely Mother’s Day gift this year. I came across this hamper today and I think it would be very well received by most Mums’. The wicker hamper contains a 75cl bottle of Louis Dornier & Fils Champagne, a box of Belgian chocolates, a handmade linen photograph album, a honeysuckle scented candle and a box of bath grains.
This beautifully designed ornament will be something your mum can keep forever and will be a constant reminder of how appreciated she is. With the words ‘thank you for being my mum’ written on it, I think most mums would love to have this gift from a son or daughter, and what better time to give it than Mother’s Day!
I’ve just been over to the Next website where they have a brilliant selection of gifts and ideas for Mother’s Day. Among the ideas was this beautiful bunch of pink roses mixed with lilies and astilbe called ‘Pleasure’. The bouquet costs £28 or £33 for a larger version plus a £3.75 delivery charge. This particular bunch was my favourite but there are many others to choose from and the prices vary from £20 to £38. A free card with personalised message is also included.
A friend of mine received a 22ct Gold Plated Last Rolo from her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day which I thought was a really nice idea. Not only is the gift totally original, it also shows that special someone how much you love them (you’d be willing to give them your last rolo!). The Rolo’s are made to the exact size of the chocolate versions and are neatly packaged in a small red circular box with black lining and a red ribbon on the lid.
If you want a Mother’s Day pressie that lasts all year long how about paying your mums yearly subscription to her favourite magazine. There are some great discounts currently available on
If you’re on a bit of a budget this Mother’s Day but you still want to treat your Mum to something special then this could be the perfect gift for you. The set is a hot stone therapy massage pack and includes geranium, lavender and patchouli essential massage oils, river pebbles, a fragranced candle, a white head band and some stress release oil.
For a special gift on Mother’s Day treat your mum to a
So Mother’s Day is drawing nearer (18th March for those of you who’re unsure!) and it’s time to start thinking about pressies. Chocolates and flowers are all very well but they start to become boring year after year so maybe it’s time to think about opening your mind to new gifts that will be appreciated much more.
