For the Geek in your Life

November 15th, 2007 by Cleo

lg-caffeine-mug.jpgOk so its not quite time to think about Christmas presents just yet but I’ve found the perfect place to get gifts for…..well all of my friends. I’m really excited about finding this website I think I might be able to get my entire Christmas shopping done in one day. The site in question is called Think Geek and sells t-shirts, gadgets and other random stuff that would suit all types of geek…they even do stuff for potential geeks!

Some of my favourite items include “I void warranties” tshirt, the ,“I see fragged people” tshirt and the “I’m with genius” t-shirt. I’m sure that this will actually make people think you are smarter than you are. I also like the caffeine molecule coffee cup and the “There’s no place like 127.0.0.1” door mat, Even your mum might appreciate those gifts.

Christmas in Europe

November 15th, 2007 by Cleo

christmas_market1.jpgIts always been my dream to go to New York a few days before Christmas to do some Christmas shopping. It’s a little bit out of my price range this year so I’m going to have to settle for something a bit closer to home and a little bit lighter on the wallet.

A friend of mine suggested a trip to one of the Christmas markets in Germany or Brussels which I thought was a great alternative. If these traditional markets don’t get you in a festive spirit then nothing will. They are a great place to pick up some interesting presents that you just won’t find on the high street. Traditionally the markets sell things like wooden tree decorations, gifts and toys, hand embroidered Christmas table cloths, pottery as well as typical Christmas foods such as stolen, gingerbread and mulled wine.

The markets are always colourfully decorated and take place in picturesque market towns. You feel like you are stepping into a Christmas card. Trips to historic markets towns such as Munich or a stay in Brussels or Prague costs as little as £100 for three nights so you will have plenty of spending money. Visit lastminute.com for more details or www.praugeexperience.com to get more of an idea of what’s on offer.

Happy Birthday Hat

November 8th, 2007 by Cleo

oob010-birthday-hat.jpgWe usually give serious gift ideas on this website but I came across this hat this morning and I just thought, how cool! It’s definitely a more obvious way of letting everyone know its your birthday than a simple badge, I’m not sure I would be brave enough to wear it out on the town but I’m sure it would get you plenty of offers of birthday drinks.

If the hat itself isn’t drawing enough attention at the touch of the button birthday music will start playing from inside you head! Get this for anyone you know who is going to be out celebrating a birthday soon and don’t let them shy away from the attention…I’m sure they’ll thank you for it in the morning. Get one for £4.99 from Find Me A Gift.
